Assembly Bill 1886 requires that all California Facilitators of Batterer's Intervention
programs have a minimum of 40 hours of training in specific areas, which are listed
in the law.  Essentially, this bill details the number of hours of required training in
each content area in contrast to the original requirements in PC 1203.097, which
listed the content areas but did not spell out the amount of training required.

Students may select any module or modules needed without being required to follow
any particular sequence; however, in ord
er to become a Batterer's Group Facilitator,
we recommend that students be mindful of the legal requirements to become a
certified facilitator.
